The Circle of Friendship

Our new giving society honoring the founder of Friendship Trays, Ann Elliot, and the legacy of those who paved the way for us

Ann Elliot, now 96 years old, still lights up a room with warmth and kindness.

Her spirit—infectious and sincere—makes it easy to imagine Ann 40 years ago mobilizing family, friends, and neighbors to deliver healthy, balanced meals and good-hearted warmth to neighbors in need. Ann is founder of Friendship Trays, and, today, Friendship Trays is Charlotte’s primary meals-on-wheels program.

The Circle of Friendship is Friendship Trays’ first giving society. Donors who give to the Circle this year will become our Founding Friends. The Circle of Friendship honors our founder Ann and the legacy of those who paved the way for us, now serving more that 700 meals daily throughout our community.

Become Part of the Circle

We invite you to become a Founding Friend. Your partnership and support is vital to expand Friendship Trays‘ vision to meet the needs of our neighbors who need our vital services. Your selfless generosity will deliver more than a warm, healthy meal, it will deliver a warm smile.

You are a key to ensuring the delivery of food and friendship. When you join the Friendship Circle you show neighbors in need how much you care and how much they matter. You offer elderly or infirm men and women nutritious meals and human connection. You offer their families peace of mind. You also inspire others to make this critical service available to neighbors in need.

The Circle of Friendship recognizes and honors your gifts of leadership. Your investment provides annual support to advance Friendship Trays’ mission. By joining The Circle of Friendship you will become a Founding Friend, but more importantly you make it possible for neighbors to become friends, for Charlotte to be more connected.

Thank you for believing in the power of connection.

The launch of The Circle of Friendship was an emotional and inspiring day for me. I witnessed first-hand how passionate you and your friends are for Friendship Trays and our mission. Sharing food and friendship, stories and concerns, laughter and a couple tears, together we strengthened the organization and ensured a future of more healthy meals and human connection for our aging and ill neighbors.

Since 1976 our mission at Friendship Trays has been to deliver nutritious meals to elderly or infirm individuals in the Charlotte community who are unable to obtain or prepare their own meals. We cook and courier a meal to the doorstep of over 700 recipients. But we deliver so much more than that. We deliver human connection to those that are isolated and lonely. We deliver peace of mind to the families of our recipients. It’s so much more than a meal.
